Kevin David Mitnick : This guy treated like a legend in Late 20th Centuries,Kevin David Mitnick born in August 6,1963, is a computer security consultant and author. He was a world-famous controversial computer hacker in the late 20th century, who was, at the time of his arrest, the most wanted computer criminal in United States history.

Mitnick gained unauthorized access to his first computer network in 1979, at the age of sixteen, when a friend gave him the phone number for the Ark, the computer system Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) used for developing their RSTS/E operating system software. He broke into DEC's computer network and copied DEC's software, a crime he was charged and convicted for in 1988.

Ankit Fadia : Ankit Fadia is a 14 Years old Indian Baby Boy Who wrote an Unofficial guide to ethical Hacking.

Gary McKinnon: This 41-year-old Scotsman, also known as Solo,Gary McKinnon is the perpetrator of what’s considered the biggest hack in the history of computer science – into a military system. Not satisfied with this, in the years 2001 and 2002, he made a mockery of the information security of NASA itself and the Pentagon. Currently he is at liberty awarding his extradition to the U.S. and prohibited access to a computer with Internet connection.

Vladimir Levin: This Russian biochemist and mathematician was accused of having committed one of the biggest bank robberies of all times by means of the cracking technique. From Saint Petersburg, Levin managed to transfer funds estimated at approximately 10 million dollars from Citibank in New York to accounts he had opened in distant parts of the world. He was arrested by INTERPOL in 1995 at Heathrow airport (England). Although he managed to rob more than 10 million dollars, he was only sentenced to three years in prison. Currently he is free.

Kevin Poulsen: Today he may be a journalist and collaborates with authorities to track paedophiles on the Internet, but Poulsen has a dark past as a cracker and phreaker. The event that brought him the most notoriety was taking over Los Angeles phone lines in 1990. A radio station was offering a Porsche as a prize for whoever managed to be caller number 102. It goes without saying that Poulsen was the winner of the contest.

Timothy Lloyd: In 1996, information services company Omega, provider of NASA and the United States Navy, suffered losses of around 10 million dollars. And it was none other than Tim Lloyd, an x-employee fired some weeks earlier, who was the cause of this financial disaster. Lloyd left a virtually activated information bomb in the company’s codes, which finally detonated July 31 of that same year.

Robert Morris: Son of one of the forerunners in the creation of the virus, in 1988 Morris managed to infect no fewer than 6,000 computers connected to the ArpaNet network (one of the precursors to the internet) He did it from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and for his criminal activities he earned a four year prison sentence, which was finally reduced to community service.

David Smith: Not all hackers can boast of creating the virus that spread the fastest to computers the width and breadth of the globe – David Smith can. In 1999, the father of the Melissa virus managed to infect and crash 100,000 email accounts with his malicious creation. Smith, who was thirty years old at the time, was sentenced and freed on bail.

MafiaBoy: In February of 2000, many of the most important online companies in the US, such as eBay, Yahoo and Amazon, suffered a technical glitch called Denial of Service, which caused a total of 1700 million dollars in losses. But did these sites know that the perpetrator of the attack was a 16 year-old Canadian who responded to the alias MafiaBoy? Surely not, although it didn’t take them long to find out, thanks to his bragging about his bad deed to his classmates at school.

Masters of Deception (MoD): MoD was a New York cyber-gang that reached its apogee in the early 90s. Under the cover of different aliases, its biggest attacks involved taking over telephone lines and centres of the Internet, then still in its infancy. During this time MoD starred in the historic “battles of the hackers,” along with other groups like the Legion of Doom (LoD), as they sought to destroy each other until the computers couldn’t take it anymore.

Richard Stallman: Since the early 80s when he was a hacker specializing in artificial intelligence, this hippie-looking New Yorker has been one of the most active militants in favor of free software. At MIT he firmly opposed the privatization of the software used by the institute’s laboratory, so much so they he created what today is known as GNU and the concept of CopyLeft. Popular systems like Linux utilize the GNU mode and Stallman is currently one of the gurus of software democratization.

Ubuntu's developers have done quite a bit of work to pare down the amount of time it takes for your system to start up. And it shows. On my laptop computer, about 15 seconds has been shaved off the boot time. Your mileage may vary.
But it's not only the amount of time required to start up that's been decreased. I, and other Ubuntu users I know, have noticed that our lap and desktop computers shut down much faster. I can't give you an exact number (mainly because I usually walk away from my computer when I shut it down), but I've noticed that it does power down within 10 seconds.

Fully Encrypted Home Directory :-

Your home directory (for example, /home/scott) is your own personal space in the Linux file system. That's where you store your files and whatnot. If you're installing Ubuntu 9.10 and not just upgrading, you can encrypt your home directory (and the home directories of any users you add during installation). This is done by slapping something called eCryptfs (a secure file system) on top of the home directory.

How To Securing An Internet Kiosk Or A Public Net Connected PC

It is difficult to maintain a PC that is used many different users—for example, a PC at an internet cafe. People can easily mess with important system files, download too many files, install unneeded software, and so on.You could choose to add a Limited access user account for general users, but that may not be sufficient.
If you want to tighten the screws a bit, you’ll need to depend on thirdparty software such as Public PC Desktop by Ixis Research Inc. Let’s check out how to configure a machine for limited access at an Internet cafe or cyber cafe using this software.

STEP 1 : Download And Install Public PC Desktop Software:
Download the software from www.softheap.com/pubpcd.html. This is shareware, which means you can try it for free, for a limited period. Doubleclick on the setup.exe file to install the software. The Wizard will guide you through the installation.

STEP 2 : How To Choosing The Right Options: The first screen displays the
main set of options: Access Control, Password, Users, and Time Codes. In our example here, we’ll use these to set up a public Internet access terminal. The other options can be viewed by
clicking the ‘More options’ button.Here, you can set certain shortcuts for a user to use, block certain sites, and also change certain Internet Explorer properties for security reasons. The most important option here is the proxy settings. However, the proxy settings only gives the option of portsfor HTTP and HTTPS traffic, which is somewhat restrictive, but just about enough for regular connections. Let’s use the first set of options to lock a workstation.

STEP 3 : Settings in Access Control: Under ‘Access Control’, you have three options to choose from. These are essentially the modes by which you control access:
(a) Username and password
(b) Time-limited lock
(c) Let the user choose

The first choice is ideal when there is a stable flow of users, that is, when there are almost never any new users.In this case, the administrator has to maintain a database of users that can be used in all the workstations.‘Time-limited lock’ allows the administrator to generate a time key
code for a certain number of minutes.This key is given to the user so he can log on to a workstation. The user is allowed to use the workstation only for that time interval; the workstation gets locked as soon as the time limit expires. The third option allows the user to
choose to unlock the workstation using the username and password, or by giving a time code. For a cyber cafe, where it is difficult to set up a database of users with passwords, it is ideal to choose time codes.

STEP 4 : Setting A Limited-Access Workstation: In this step, you’ll be actually setting up the workstation for limited access. Click on ‘More options’ and create a list of shortcuts of all the
applications you want a user to have access to. An ideal list of applications would contain Internet Explorer, MS Office, Notepad, and a few more. The next step is to set the proxy. Only you, as administrator, knows the port numbers; add them to the settings.
Now, get back to Access Control. Set a master password and a time encoding keyword. The master password is for the administrator, and the keyword is used to generate time codes, which can be done by clicking
on ‘Passwords’. Jump to ‘Time codes’ and specify the time for which you want the user to use the workstation, and then click on ‘Generate’.
This will give an encrypted code. A user can use this code to unlock the workstation and use it for the specified time limit. He or she may choose to log off before the time limit, but the workstation will get locked anyway when the limit is reached.
A locked workstation looks something like the
screenshot below. When accessing the hard disk of a computer from a restricted workstation, an error message pops up, reminding the user of the applied restrictions.

3. Then you need to write 10.2.45.155 in the server ip field and write port number as 8080.

4. Then choose the protocol as https and use the authentication method and click ok.

5. The last step is to click on no on the box that appears after step 4.

Please better to use Open DNS instead of Default one, because Open DNS is a very fast service,So you can able to Browse even more than you can expect.

When compared to Vista, Windows7 is Built by Strong Platform with new interface and Graphics,I really wondered when I Installed Windows7,It will Boot more faster faster than Vista,anyway I am a little bit disappointed with Vista that’s because for its Performance and utilization of Memory.But I am very much Impressed with windows 7.

That’s Because of some Cool Features,like Bit Locker Encryption and New Windows Mail Interface and its new 168 bit Encryption options are really Mind Blowing.

Another main thing in Windows 7 which will addict me to this new OS is its Graphics. Of course Microsoft is especially Master in this one.And also new Taskbar Design is completely

Awesome.I really thanked to New Ribbon Technology.

Incase of Security Windows 7 is one step Ahead than Vista.Just like I already told about that Bit Locker encryption and Mail Encryption Features,It also having some added Security features like Parental Control and ,Advanced User account settings.

Chrome Frame browser plug-in for Internet Explorer seems to have kicked off a war of words between Google and Microsoft. When it comes to security, who do you trust more - Microsoft or Google?

In case you haven’t been keeping up with developments, Chrome Frame is a plug-in developed by Google for IE that brings the performance and standards compatibility of the Chrome browser to IE users. To put it another way, Google came out with a plug-in that dramatically improves IE.

When it comes to security, who do you trust more?

But Microsoft isn’t taking this lying down. Yesterday the Redmond software giant claimed that Chrome Frame put IE users at risk by expanding the attack surface available to hackers:

“With Internet Explorer 8, we made significant advancements and updates to make the browser safer for our customers. Given the security issues with plug-ins in general and Google Chrome in particular, Google Chrome Frame running as a plug-in has doubled the attack area for malware and malicious scripts. This is not a risk we would recommend our friends and families take.”

Later Google hit back:

“While we encourage users to use a more modern and standards-compliant browser such as Firefox, Safari, Opera or Google Chrome rather than a plug-in, for those who don’t, Google Chrome Frame is designed to provide better performance, strong security features and more choice to both developers and users, across all versions of Internet Explorer.”

Google is even going as far as to suggest that if you don’t trust the code, check it out for yourself:

“We invite all parties with thoughts about Google Chrome Frame to explore our code and provide feedback about this technology [to] the open-source community.”

This is really a bad news for windows XP lovers, because microsoft taken some harsh decisions on before release of Windows 7.Many security and market analysts are not enough happy with this decision.Microsoft puts many restrictions on XP. I will give here complete information about it.Read it and know it.

According to Gartner analyst Michael Silver, businesses looking to migrate to Windows 7 could find the whole process much harder and more expensive than it needs to be … thanks to Microsoft.

Here’s what Silver had to say to Infoworld:

“Under Microsoft’s planned enterprise licensing rules, businesses that buy PCs before April 23, 2010, with Windows 7 pre-installed can downgrade them to Windows XP, then later upgrade them to Windows 7 when they’re ready to migrate their users. But PCs bought on or after April 23 can only be downgraded to Vista - which is of no help for XP-based organizations, Silver notes - and could cause major headaches and add more costs to the Windows 7 migration effort.”

So, the upshot is that after April 23, 2010 you could end up with a pot-luck stew of systems running XP and Vista. That’s bad news if you’ve been planning on skipping Vista. If you wanted to avoid this kind of mess, there are options open to you, but none of them are particularly attractive:

* Take the Software Assurance (SA) route which costs some $90 extra per PC per year. This allows you to install any OS you want. However, most go for SA as a way to future-proof systems rather than to get downgrade rights, and even then you can end up paying for air (for example, if you had bought SA in October 2003 with an eye to getting the next version of Windows in the deal, you’d have been out of luck since Vista didn’t make an appearance until November 2006).

* Buy more PCs before April 23, 2010 and hold onto them until you need them.

* Try finding someone willing to sell XP licenses.
* Rush to adopt Vista or 7.

None of these options are particularly attractive. Maybe the best route for companies tied to XP is to look at PC replacements over the past few years and stock up on spare XP licenses, just in case. If you’re confident of your numbers you could buy these as part of new systems before the deadline. Remember though, that buying a PC that you aren’t going to use for many months is not being sensible with your money.

[UPDATE: Microsoft has finally clarified the XP to 7 downgrade rights, extending the period to 18 months following general availability ... or until SP1 is released.

So, once SP1 is around the corner, you'll need to be ready to roll with 7 or have a contingency plan in place.]

The latest update to Firefox addresses 67 bugs and enhancements, according to Mozilla. 23 bugs were marked as “critical” or higher. These numbers are slightly inflated because they contain the ones already fixed in the 3.0.8 emergency update on March 27th.

Nine potential security vulnerabilities were patched including 2 marked as “high” and 1 “critical”:

MFSA 2009-19 Same-origin violations in XMLHttpRequest and XPCNativeWrapper.toString

MFSA 2009-17 Same-origin violations when Adobe Flash loaded via view-source: scheme

MFSA 2009-14 Crashes with evidence of memory corruption (critical)

The security issues were reported by Olli Pettay, Martijn Wargers, Mats Palmgren, Oleg Romashin, Jesse Ruderman, Gary Kwong, Igor Bukanov, Bob Clary, Gregory Fleischer, Daniel Veditz, Moxie Marlinspike, Cefn Hoile, Prateek Saxena, and Paolo Amadini.

The most serious fix (MFSA 2009-14) covers four browser engine and JavaScript engine crashes where Mozilla’s developers found evidence of memory corruption.

Whenever browser crashes show evidence of memory corruption, Mozilla presumes that with enough effort at least some of these crashes could be exploited to run arbitrary code.

Some other fixes of note:

MFSA 2009-17: Security researcher Gregory Fleischer reported that when an Adobe Flash file is loaded via the view-source: scheme, the Flash plugin misinterprets the origin of the content as localhost, leading to two specific vulnerabilities:

The Flash file can bypass restrictions imposed by the crossdomain.xml mechanism and initiate HTTP requests to arbitrary third-party sites. This vulnerability could be used by an attacker to perform CSRF attacks against these sites.
The Flash file, being treated as a local resource, can read and write Local Shared Objects on a user’s machine. This vulnerability could be used by an attacker to place cookie-like objects on a user’s computer and track them across multiple sites.
Additionally, Fleischer reported that the jar: protocol could be used to bypass restrictions normally preventing content loaded via view-source: from being rendered.

MFSA 2009-19: Mozilla security researcher moz_bug_r_a4 reported that it is possible to create a document whose URI does not match the document’s principal using XMLHttpRequest. This type of mismatch leads to incorrect results in principal-based security checks. An attacker could use this vulnerability to execute arbitrary JavaScript within the context of another site.moz_bug_r_a4 separately reported that XPCNativeWrapper.toString’s __proto__ comes from the wrong scope which results in calls to that function being executed in the wrong context in certain circumstances. An attacker could use this vulnerability to run arbitrary code within the context of a different site. Alternatively, if chrome were to call content.toString.call(), then attacker-defined functions could be run with chrome privileges.

Here is a complete tutorial try to learn new things,Optical Character Recognition, or more commonly known as OCR, is the translation of handwritten, typewritten or printed text into machine readable and editable text using either mechanical or electrical means. OCR is an off-line character recognition technique.

OCR is a vast technology that extends into the fields of pattern recognition, artificial intelligence and machine vision. OCR started off using pure

optical instruments like mirrors and lenses but has now transformed into a purely digital method that uses scanners and computer algorithms.

What may seem like a relatively new technology was developed way back in 1929, which was a mechanical device that used a photo detector and different templates. The template moved all over the text to be recognized, and when the template and the character lined up exactly, no light reached the photo detector and that character was identified. However, this worked with

only a predetermined font, and each font needed a different template.

Today’s systems can recognize a wide variety of fonts spanning across different languages.The latest OCR technology boasts of accuracy exceeding 99%. This means that it still needs to be reviewed manually for errors. The OCR technology used in scanners, are still not very accurate especially when used to scan hand written documents. With an accuracy of 80-90%, only neat handwritten characters can be recognized, which amounts to around a dozen errors

on each page and makes the use of this technology fairly limited.

Over time, all the search engines will move toward the Sitemaps.org standard for submission, which is to use a ping URL submission syntax. Basically this means you give your sitemap address to the search engine and request it to send out a short burst of data and “listen” for a reply, like the echo on a submarine sonar search. At time of writing, I only recommend using this method for Ask.com. Amend the following to add the full URL path to your site map file, copy it into your browser URL bar, and hit return:

Yahoo! follows a similar approach to Google on Yahoo! Site Explorer. Sign up, sign in, add a site, and click on the verification button. With Yahoo! you need to upload a verification key file (in HTML format) to the root directory of your web server. Then you can return to Site Explorer and tell Yahoo! to start authentication. This takes up to 24 hours. At the same time you can also add your sitemap by clicking on the “Manage” button and adding the sitemap as a feed.

Before going to Submit your site map I recommend you to first Burn your Feed using Feed Burner so the search engines can easily determine your content.

Installing Windows XP from A Flash Drive Or A PenDrive

I think lots of peoples are unknown about the fact of portable usage.Using portable devices we can do a lot of things but all we have to do is some small work to prepare the ground.Now i will tell you how to prepare that ground and install windows XP from your USB pendrive.

Requirements :

A desktop or laptop with Windows XP/Vista (according to the OS required to be dumped onto the USB fash drive).

An optical drive in the PC.

The original Windows XP or Vista installation disk.

A 1 GB or 4 GB USB fash drive for Windows XP/Vista respectively.

A software called ‘Komku-SP-usb.exe'(forthe Windows XP part) which can be downloaded from http://download179.mediafre.com/b3tjl6ds2gfg/zlvkwwzmjmt/Komku-SP-usb.exe .

This is completely 8 steps process now use my Hack and Enjoy

Solvater Hack :

Step 1: Download the software ‘Komku-SP-usb.exe’ from the websites mentioned above and open it.The executable fle will extract the necessary utilities to a folder called ‘C:\komku’.Step 2: Once the package has been extracted,go to the folder ‘C:\komku\PeToUSB’ using Windows Explorer.Execute the fle ‘PeToUSB.exe’.Plug in the USB fash drive and make sure you choose the following (see image below) before clicking the start button.Select ‘USB removable’,‘Enable Disk Format’,‘Quick format’,‘Enable LBA (Fat 16x)’ and fnally give the drive a name under ‘Drive Label’.Once it’s done,click start to let the utility format the drive.
Step 3: Next you will need to start the command prompt.Click ‘Start|Run’,type ‘cmd’ and press [Enter].Then go to the ‘bootsect’ directory by typing the command ‘cd C:\komku\bootsect’ and pressing [Enter]. Now type the command ‘bootsect /nt52 F:’ and press [Enter].(The ‘F:’ is the USB fash drive letter represented in ‘My Computer’. Check to verify the drive letter used by your USB fash drive). Let the utility do the needful.Do not exit the Command Prompt yet.Step 4: Now you will need to change to the directory ‘Usb_Prep8’ by using the command ‘cd C:\komku\usb _ prep8’ and pressing [Enter]. Here execute the command ‘usb _ prep8’ and press [Enter]. Press any key to continue and you will see a welcome screen with a menu appear in the Command Prompt.
Step 5: Now at this stage, you will have to insert the Windows XP installation disk into your optical drive. At the Command Prompt menu, type ‘1’ and press [Enter]. A new popup will appear asking you to choose the location (path) of the Windows installation disk. Select the optical drive and click ‘OK’. Next choose ‘2’ from the menu and change the drive letter to any drive letter which has not been taken. It is drive ‘T:’ by default and you can ignore this step unless you do have a ‘T:’ drive on your computer. After this, choose ‘3’ from the menu and enter the drive letter of your USB fash drive (in this case it would be ‘F’). Finally choose ‘4’ from the menu and press [Enter]. Wait for a few seconds for the process to complete and you will see a prompt to allow the utility to format the USB fash drive. Type ‘Y’ and then press [Enter] at this stage to let the utility proceed and install the necessary fles from the Windows XP installation disk to the
USB fash drive. This process will take a few minutes and depends on the speed of the fash drive.

Step 6: After the fles are copied, you will see a popup window asking you for permission to copy fles from the temp drive to the USB fash drive. Select ‘Yes’.
Step 7: Next there will be another popup window asking you to allow the utility to change the boot drive letter of the USB fash drive from ‘F:’ to ‘U:’. Select ‘Yes’.

Step 8: Finally, after all the processes are complete, you will see yet another popup window asking if you want to unmount the virtual drive. Select ‘Yes’. Exit the Command Prompt now and you will see that your fash drive is ready to install Windows XP to another computer.To install Windows XP to the computer, you will have to go to the BIOS and enable the option of booting from a USB removable device. This option is usually found under the boot sequence menu of the BIOS. Plug in the USB drive to the computer before you turn it on. Now your computer will boot from the USB fash drive and will be ready to install Windows XP. Follow the necessary steps to install Windows XP and your computer will be up, raring and ready to go and running Windows in no time.

Install Windows Vista With Your Flash Drive or Pendrive

Making a bootable Windows Vista installation USB drive is far simpler than doing so for Windows XP because the utility is built into the operating system and can be deployed from the Command Prompt itself. All you would need is a computer running the Windows Vista operating system, the original Windows Vista installation DVD and at least a 4 GB USB fash drive. Follow the simple steps ahead to make your own Windows Vista bootable USB drive.

Step 1: Start Windows Vista, insert the pen drive into the computer’s USB port. Start Command Prompt, type ‘diskpart’ and press [Enter].
Step 2: Type ‘list disk’ and press [Enter]. Carefully note down the USB fash drive’s disk number listed here. In this case it would be ‘Disk 1’.

Step 3: Type ‘Select disk 1’ and press [Enter]. Here the Diskpart utility is instructed to choose the disk 1 as the drive to be worked on.

Step 4: Type ‘Clean’ and press [Enter]. This command clears out all the information of the volumes, partitions, boot sectors and the MBR from the USB fash drive.

Step 5: Type ‘Create partition primary’ and press [Enter]. This command will create a primary partition on the USB fash drive.

Step 6: Type ‘Select partition '1’ and press [Enter]. This command instructs the Diskpart utility to select the newly created partition.

Step 7: Type ‘Active’ and press [Enter]. This command will make the current partition (primary) active to enable the USB fash drive to boot from.

Step 8: Type ‘Format fs=fat32’ and press [Enter]. This command formats the selected drive partition using the FAT32 fle system.

Step 9: Type ‘Assign’ and press [Enter].This command assigns a drive letter to the newly formatted partition. As there is no drive letter specifed in the command line, the next available drive letter is assigned to the drive.

Step 10: Exit from the Diskpart utility using the ‘exit’ command and pressing [Enter]. Now insert the Windows Vista DVD in the optical drive and type the command ‘xcopy e:\*.* /s /e /f F:\’ and press [Enter]. This command will dump all the contents of the Windows Vista DVD onto the USB fash drive. Your USB drive is now ready to install Windows Vista on any computer. Just set the boot sequence in the BIOS of the system to boot from the USB, insert the USB fash drive into the computers USB port and turn on the computer. Follow the regular installation for Windows Vista.

Note: To know more about the Diskpart utility commands, browse through the URL http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300415 . Installing Windows XP or Windows Vista from a USB fash drive is much faster as compared to installing from a CD/DVD. A high-speed fash drive would make a diference.

This is a Basic Hack For Beginners and also an intresting one,remember some people use IP scaners to find some Alive IP's but i Preffer you to not use such programs,Because if you use any Scaner you definitely get arrested by your ISP.Because that is illegal.Allways use manual methods.So lets try these hacks

Method 1
To view someone's IP when they send you hotmail email do this:
1) Click "Options" on the upper right side of the page.
2) On the left side of the page, Click "Mail"
3) Click "Mail Display Settings"
4) Under "Message Headers" select "Full" or "Advanced"
5) Click ok

Method 2
reg a dydns account and install the ip pointer, so each time you ping the host name you regestored

for example:
you regester the host name myhost.dydns.com, then you keep a little software running on the target host. The little software will keep update your IP to dydns.com server.

so at your pc just start cmd, and ping myhost.dydns.com, it will give you the most updated ip address.

Method 3
never ender, what doesn't work for you? Simply type in nc -vvv -l -p 80 on your box, which will set it to listen in verbose mode on port 80. Then give them a link to your IP address (for example: 111.111.111.11) and tell them to type it in their browser. The browser should resolve the address as well as append port 80 automatically. Just make sure that your friend is not very computer literate.

Method 4
Just download a very simple server such as this one and install it on your comp. Then run it and give your ip to the person you want and tell them to connect to it through a browser. Your server will log their connection and you will get their IP.
